Wishart responds to the SaxaVord funding

Responding to the Chancellor’s budget announcement that the UK Government will make available £10 million of funding to SaxaVord Spaceport to support its first orbital launch, Scottish Liberal Democrat and Shetland’s MSP, Beatrice Wishart commented:
“The Chancellor’s budget announcement to support SaxaVord Spaceport in Shetland is welcome.
“I know the hard working team in Unst will be over the moon at this news.
“This is a significant investment and confirmation of the confidence in SaxaVord Spaceport, Europe’s only licensed vertical launch spaceport.
“With the first ever orbital launch due later this year, supporting the emerging satellite industry, SaxaVord is leading the way.”
