Scottish Liberal Democrat and Shetland MSP Beatrice Wishart has today met with Loganair Senior Management at their head office in Glasgow, ahead of the Shetland External Transport Forum meeting in Lerwick tomorrow.

Issues discussed at the meeting included how the company will improve resilience and confidence in the lifeline air service and NHS patient travel.

Beatrice Wishart MSP said:

“This was a useful meeting to highlight the issues that constituents have raised with me about the Loganair service.

"Weather disruptions are unfortunately an inevitable aspect of air travel to and from Shetland.

“How Loganair deal with delays and cancellations, and how quickly people can get to their destinations, is what passengers will judge the airline on.

“As a regular commuter on the Sumburgh to Edinburgh service, I can say that I have seen an improvement in recent weeks.”
