Wishart encourages young musicians to apply for grant funding
Young musicians are being invited to apply for small grants funding from youth music education charity the Eilidh MacLeod Memorial Trust.
The charity are keen to see applications from all genres and disciplines of music. Youth groups have until midnight on 30 April 2024 to apply via the Eilidh’s Trust website.
Eilidh’s Trust was established in memory of Eilidh MacLeod, a 14 year old from the Isle of Barra who was a victim of the 2017 Manchester Area attack. In recognition of Eilidh’s love of music and ability as a piper in the local school pipe band, the Trust supports young musicians to pursue their love of music. Since 2019, the Trust has made over 60 grant payments to a variety of organisations.
Commenting, Beatrice Wishart MSP said:
“Eilidh’s Trust continues to honour Eilidh MacLeod’s legacy by supporting young people in their music education.
“Individuals and groups in Shetland who could benefit from funding are encouraged to apply.”
